Life has never been so bad before. It just crushes down upon you like … a sickly burden.

It’s the 23rd of December 2003. Thank god it’s over.
Today, I got my new ID card. The ‘getting’ process was easy – taking less than 10 minutes but the ‘pre-getting’ process was arduous. You had to wait at least half an hour before anything happened. Well, I have my new ID card now. It’s got stuff like fingerprint authentication and PKI built into it. Probably too smart for decades to come.
Today, I went to the preview of the exhibition of Nudes and Naked Calligraphy works by Jean and Sun-Chang Lo. They taught courses related to art and design in the Department of Architecture in HKU. I was luckily that I had a chance to attend their courses in year-one. I learnt a lot and they influenced me greatly in many different aspects. They are very dedicated and professional. If you have time, do come and take a look at this fantastic exhibiton. The exhibition will continue until 21/Jan/2004 in the University Museum and Art Gallery.
There is an issue here: Micro$oft versus the world.
The issue is a compelling one. There are people who believe Micro$oft is too powerful and is monopolizing the market. On the other hand, imagine a world where there are over 50 different operating systems and office software.

December is coming. With it, it’ll bring friends back from England and USA, Half Life, DeusEx and Lord of the Rings but before all that happens, I’ve got exams to contend with. I’m sure many of you do too so let’s keep our spirits and stay alive till next year.
I went to a talk on job interviews today. The lady covered some dos and don’ts before, during and after an interview. First, know yourself and what the job requires. The interviewer will ask you questions that try to reveal what you have to take on the role of the job you want. Simple.
Then there are the simple rules of politeness, body language and eye contact. She stressed interviewers must be themselves when interviewed otherwise the results will not be too good.
Finally, remember what you said during the interview. It will be funny in the second interview if you said something contradicting what you said in the first.
