Today, a Mr. Keung was sentenced to 40 hours of community work for making persistent telephone calls – 不斷打電話! Civilians beware, calling friends in the evening may no longer be safe anymore.

I am on the number 23 bus and the top deck is empty save for a ridiculously loud female and some students at the back. She is talking on her mobile phone. Every meticulous detail is overheard. Her thoughts – “DID I ALREADY BUY THE BREAD” repeated twice in a row. and then she thinks about it again. “OH REALLY”, she screams across the bus.. she is so annoying that i want to slap her. I turned around and solemnly asks her if she minds. apparently not and she continues her hollering. Ah finally. peace. maybe I need better headphones…
The day that people get sentenced becasue of sending meaningful messages through ICQ or other instant messaging program is not very far away
