I don’t quite understand what the hype is… why is everyone flailing around when she’s not even talking?

    Converting iWork Pages into PDF

Written by Cliff on Monday 26 November 2007 at 10:22 pm

If you work in Pages, but need to go to the Computer Lab to print stuff, you’ll probably want this script. Copy it into the applescript editor and save it as an application. Then dragging multiple pages files onto it will generate corresponding PDFs on the desktop.

    on open theFiles
      tell application "Pages"
        repeat with aFile in theFiles
          open aFile
set docName to name of front document
            -- Remove .pages extension.
set prevTIDs to AppleScript's text item delimiters
set AppleScript's text item delimiters to ".pages"
            -- Add .pdf extension.
set docName to first text item of docName & ".pdf"
set AppleScript's text item delimiters to prevTIDs
-- Save PDF file to Desktop.
set docPathAndName to (path to desktop as string) & docName
save front document as "SLDocumentTypePDF" in docPathAndName
          close front document
        end repeat
      end tell
    end open

To create word document files, use ‘.doc’ and ‘SLDocumentTypeMSWord’ instead ;)

    On Gifts of Courage

Some people simply give what they think is best for the recipient, perhaps considering, but most definitely putting aside the consequences.

    That. Is appreciated.

    Bush's Annual Pardon

Written by Cliff on Wednesday 21 November 2007 at 4:01 pm

There is something wrong with the publishing of Bush’s pardoning of two turkeys and thus saving them from the dinnerplate of Thanksgiving. First off, it does nothing to prevent the consumption of their feathery brethren. Secondly, its like a joke. What leader of state would publicly save the life of two birds annually and fly of for a holiday weekend? The Chief Executive of Hong Kong has better things to do. The premier of China has better things to do. The Queen of England has better things to do. With respect, I think Mr. Bush should show more compassion to people as human beings than to two birds and “their blissful gobbling”.

Notwithstanding the subprime crisis, North Korea, Iraq, Iran and Myanmar, Bush pardons two birds.

    Are you single? Yes.
    Are you gay? Yes.

    Are you single? Yes
    Are you gay? No.
    Are you working? No.

However, the results might change depending on your gender.
